Meinhardt closing Arbutus store

UPDATE 10/12/16: Only the Meinhardt location on Arbutus is closing. The South Granville location will remain open.

Meinhardt, the high-end Vancouver grocery store that was open long before the likes of Urban Fare and Whole Foods, is closing their Arbutus Street location.

The closure is a bit of a surprise, since the retailer recently added a Kin’s Farm Market produce section to the store. It’s also the larger of the two locations (the other location being in South Granville). The Arbutus location is closing Christmas Eve, December 24.

The store was founded in 1996 and has a loyal following.
