More luxury retailers coming to Alberni St.

Escada moving to Alberni St. Vancouver

Escada moving to Vancouver's Alberni St.

Alberni Street is quickly becoming Vancouver’s “Rodeo Drive.” The street and its surrounding blocks are already home to Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton (which is wrapping up a major renovation), Hermes, Brooks Brothers, Burberry and more. There’s still lots of “non-luxury” stores too but that is quickly changing. The BC Liquor Store has closed and moved to a new location on Bute St. to make room for a massive new office tower with retail in the bottom. So more changes are on the way. I hope Tim Hortons and Wendy’s never leave, but that’s mostly because I love chicken nuggets.

I’ve confirmed that Escada (which is currently in the Sinclair Centre), and Mont Blanc will be moving into the old Comor/Vancouver’s Turn retail space across from Burberry at the corner of Alberni and Thurlow.

If you’re looking for high-end fashions and expensive pens (apparently people are still using them?), this is your corner.

As for the renovations to Louis Vuitton, they are reportedly turning the Hotel Vancouver location into one of their exclusive Louis Vuitton Maison shops. It will be the first one in Canada, with other locations in cities like London and Paris. It’s a pretty big vote of confidence in Vancouver’s retail market… moving on up!
